An ode to womanhood

Designer Varija Bajaj has paid ode to womanhood through her ‘Pagdi’ collection at the sixth edition of India Runway Week in New Delhi. Bajaj said she had a lot of apprehensions before using traditional Indian headgear ‘pagdi’ as a theme as she feels that its wearing has a religious sanctity and it is a symbol of honour, respect and responsibility.

There were lot of apprehensions and concerns but I knew I had to do this. For once … it wasn’t about making others happy but my own self,” Bajaj said in a statement. Bajaj showcased her collection at Thyagaraja Stadium last weekend.
